Thank you for your work in the concessions. All seems to be going well. Looks of cooking and eating!!!!!!! It truly is a team effort!
Just a reminder about concessions to pass onto your parents:
1. Please remember to take frozen meat out for the next day games.
2. Please write in the compostion book if you identify inventory that we are out of. This helps with shopping. ( just like at home!!!)
3. Please write in compostion book any ideas, suggestions, or problems that we need to address as a park.
4. The bathroom has finally been fixed!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your support,

Winthrop Park would like to let you know about the "photo opportunity" we have at our park for our players and families. We have asked for a professional photographer to come to our games and take photos of our boys in action. Zac has agreed to do so and you will see him on the field during our games at Winthrop Park. The park pays Zac a flat fee for taking photos. We strongly encourage you to walk up to Zac and let him know which player is yours and that you would like some photos taken of your son during the game. He is going to take pictures,, so they might as well be of " your" son! Zac is in a prime position on the field and takes great actions shots. These are photos that parents really can't get through the fence.
You can view the photos of the player by going to www.tallahassee.com. If you register at tdo as a member, and post on the any of the blogs, you will qualify for 2 free photos (4 X 6) of your choice. You can't beat that!!! When you head to the site, you'll see a cartoon person in the upper left corner with some text that says "Comment, blog & share photos." Underneath that, click "Become a member." Your screen name cannot have any spaces. After you have registered, go to the youth baseball site under sports, click on Winthrop Park and you will see all the information you need for our park. (Please keep in mind it is still a work in progress.) Click on the "more photos from Winthrop Park" and you add as a friend, or post. That's it.
Please talk to Zac at the games and go to www.tallahassee.com to view your photos. Once you have choosen your photos that you wish to receive give that information to one of the Winthrop Park board members: Pres.- Laura Jensen, Co-Pres.- Gina Sisk or Treasurer- Deb Nicoll.
Thank you for your support,

I want to ask for you help with the conduct of our Talcor players while in the dugout. It's important that we maintain a good climate of control and discipline in the dugout. The players should be focused on the game which means watching play and being attentive. Here a couple rules that the coaches need help with:
No player is allowed to leave the dugout unless he needs to go to the restroom.
Players must be on the bench or "on the fence" rooting their team on. No lottering around the exit gate J
As far as food, I prefer that you not bring candy and goodies to the players. I understand that if they did not have time to eat dinner for the early game that you may occasionally need to feed them, but as a general rule, lets keep eating in the dugout to a minimum. We do have a water cooler in the dugout that you should encourage your son to use. I don't mind Gatorade but try to give it to them at the beginning of the game.
Please ask your son to be attentive to the coaches and to the game. The dugout coach needs to focus on the batting order. He should not have to spend a lot of time monitoring the boy's conduct.
I'll also talk to the boys about this tonight.
See you at the park tonight at 6:30. As always, please call me at 556-1083 if your son will not be there.
Thanks for you help and the opportunity to coach your son,
Jim and coaches

Subject: Concession stand help for Talcor
Date: Thu, 28 Feb 2008 18:15:30 -0500
Talcor parents,This is a reminder that we need parents to volunteer for concession duties for our home games. Right now we only have the first 2 games covered. We need 3 parents per game. See the schedule below.8 total home games with 3 slots each equals 24 slots. If we subtract 4 coaches and Laura, than means 19 folks need to volunteer once and 5 folks need to serve 2 times. It's important that all families pitch in to help. Concession money is used to pay our umpires as well as many other expenses for the park.3/25 (7:30 game)
3/27 (7:30 game)
4/10 (5:45 game)
4/15 (5:45 game)
4/21 (7:30 game)
5/1 (7:30 game)Pick a game or 2 and contact Eileen soon!Thanks,Jim Dudley
This is a reminder to be at the park this Monday night at 6:30 pm for the 7:30 game. This will be the norm for late games. For early games, try to be at the park as close to 5 pm as possible. The early game is the most difficult to get ready for. Thanks,
Jim
